Product Description
A Hand Spliced Wire Rope is a common type of Wire Rope Sling.
Our Hand Spliced Wire Rope Slings with fibre core feature 6 x 19, 6 x 37 or 8 x 61 Construction, Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) wire rope with a Fibre Core (FC).
The end of a single-part Hand Spliced Wire Rope Sling is bent back along the rope to create a looped eye shape, and strands at the end of this eye are then tucked back inside the body of the rope by hand. The eye shape helps to create a sling that can be used for a variety of applications.
You can often see hand-spliced ropes being utilised with thimbles. These are metallic objects that resemble the shape of the eye loop. With this small fitting, the rope will be bent around the thimble to create the eye loop. With the internal thimble offering a strong structural support.
Hand-splicing can be complete without the need for a thimble. But this product is recommended as it adds an extra layer of safety and strength to an operation.
