Product Description
 

We are supplying Single Leg Wire Rope Sling Assemblies (with fibre core) that comply with EN 13414-1: 2003, EN 13411-3: 2004, GB/T 16762-2009, GB/T 14737-2009 requirements. The wire rope slings feature 6 x 37 Construction, Extra Improved Plow Steel (EIPS) wire rope with a Fibre Core (FC), and generally equipped with hooks or shackles to form a sling assemblies.

 

You will often see equipment of this nature being swaged, which means that the end has been folded back on itself, and spliced into the rope.

 
An eye on its own is strong, however, a thimble can help to further strengthen this setup. A thimble eye can also be pressed with a ferrule, using many tonnes of force to provide a strong connection. The wire rope will run around the thimble, and then spliced back into itself. This creates a strong eye-shaped loop, and makes the end termination a lot stronger and a lot more permanent too.
 
Having thimbles at each end means that this product can be used for a range of applications. For example, it could be used as a balustrade with each end looping over a hook.
