Product Description
Swage sockets are used with a swaging machine to terminate wire ropes. This type of socket is more resistant to wire fatigue at the point of connection between the socket and cable, but it does not always have as much break strength efficiency as a spelter socket.
The swage socket is attached to the end of a wire rope sling by using a hydraulic machine and special dies. Our closed design swage socket has a hole that is made for a pin or bolt.
The sockets are forged from high tensile steel, while galvanization ensures its long-term durability. They are available for wire rope with a diameter from 1/4" to 2", recommended for use on 6 x 19, 6 x 25, 6 x 37 IWRC regular lay wire ropes.
Important characteristics:
- Reference standard: ASME B30.9
- Our Swage Sockets are recommended used for wire ropes feature 6 x 19, 6 x 25, 6 x 37 construction, with tension strength ranging from 1670 MPa to 1960 MPa.
- Swaged Terminals of the wire rope should be went through tension proof testing in accordance with the ASME B30.9 standard requirements.
- Maximum Proof Load Capacity should be no more than 50% of Breaking Load Capacity for wire ropes that with higher strength of 1960 MPa.
